The Association is governed by a seven-member Executive Committee that is elected by the membership at the Annual meeting.

Executive Committee – Each member agency of ADDCP has one vote on any Association business. The Association is governed by a seven-member Executive Committee that is elected by the membership at the Annual meeting. The officers are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Past President and two At-Large members.

Executive Director

Jim Copeland

Jim has been working with people with IDD his entire life.  His paternal uncle had an intellectual disability as the result of an undiagnosed fever at 9 months of age.  He began working in 1975 in state institutions in Arkansas.  His work has taken him to six different states.  He has been in New Mexico since 2001.  He began his work in New Mexico at the Los Lunas Community Program.  He has served on the ACQ.  He served as the Chair of the ICC.  He served as the Executive Director of Alta Mira Specialized Family Services for 14 years.  He served as the Director of the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) for two plus years.  Jim has a close personal connection to New Mexico IDD services through his brother-in-law who was served in New Mexico in the DD Waiver until his death in 2008.

President

Angelique Tafoya

Angelique is the Executive Director at Alta Mira Specialized Family Services Inc. and has been working in the field of IDD services for over 20 years. Her passion stems from her childhood, when she witnessed firsthand the importance of a direct support provider working within her family unit. This caring and compassionate relationship set the stage for her career in IDD services. Angelique began working for Alta Mira in 2009 and became the Executive Director in 2017. In addition to upholding the mission of Alta Mira, to “ support individuals with intellectual/developmental risks, delays or disabilities and their families to optimize quality of life”, she also uses her time to educate and advocate with state partners and community stakeholders.   In addition to being the president of ADDCP, she is an active member of the ACQ, where she spearheaded the creation of the Mi Via Vendor Stakeholder committee, and of the ICC, where she chairs the Finance and Funding Committee.
